It depends on the weapon you are using. DIfferent weapons perform differentlyBut the key to AVA is to NEVER hold down the fire button. You will be guaranteed to miss about 70% of your shots even if the enemy is relatively close to youBest thing to do is to either walk (hold Shift i think) and fire in single shots or bursts, crouch and fire, or stand completely still and fire in single shots or burstsOh yeah, try to aim for the head, (of course, easier said than done)Try practicing in the beginner serverWhat weapon are you using?
(my best guess is either a MP5k, M4A1, or SV98). Originally posted by:Using the HK416, and the standard AK47. Also using a fully modded P90.HK416, AK47 both have moderately high recoil for assault rifles. For the HK, I believe short taps or bursts is the way to go.For the AK, you must tap the mouse.

Use rapid taps close range, for medium range, crouch and tap, for long range.don't botherFully modded P90.ew.From the AVA wiki, it states that a modified P90 has more recoil and bloom than the standard P90.the P90 itself is already kinda bad but a P90TR ain't gunna be winning you any gunfights. But I do own the standard P90, All I have to say is.fire in 3-5 shot bursts in rapid succession and ALWAYS AIM FOR THE HEAD because the damage and penetration of the P90 is.poop. Originally posted by: I'm just saying that the recoil in this game is particularly hard to control. This is true, the recoil in game is relatively hard to control and master, but once you do get the hang of it, you can fire most weapons with control. The key is to never full auto. I suggest start playing in Escort missions to get the hang of the game and try out the pointman class to get a feel of the recoil control before moving on to the rifleman class which has weapons that are slightly more diffucult to control.

It is a great training weapon for beginners to get a feel for rifle recoil in AVA.There are some guns you can try such as the Remington R4, but it is expensive and overall not worth it, but it is a relatively easy rifle to use. The FAMAS Mk3 is another great rifle that is easy to use, fires fast, does decent damage, and is really inexpensive to boot. The M4A1 Mk3 is another great one, but ever since its nerf, it has become less great, but still a decent and cheap weapon neverthelessBut the XM8 is regarded as one of the best rifles in AVA. It is harder to use, but has fantastic DPS and MUST be fired in bursts and never full autoed. It also is kind of more expensiveAMD65 is similar in many regards to the AK series, but has a tighter crosshair and faster RoF and much more stability. This is also one of the top 3 rifles in AVA and I also highly recommend trying it out if you manage to find one on the ground. Must be bursted to remain effectiveThe SA58 Para is regarded as the best rifle in AVA, but it is the 3rd most difficult to use.
(after the RFB and M14EBR.but don't even bother with those terrible guns) It has high damage, high accuracy, and good shot grouping when used correctly. But this gun has terrible recoil full auto and must NEVER be full autoed at all. This gun is EXTREMELY difficult to use past 15 meters (well, for beginners anyways.)-TL:DRbuy the expendable M4A1 and mod it.
Keep using those M4A1s until you rank up so you can buy either a M4A1 Mk3, FAMAS Mk3, AMD65 or (preferably) XM8. Once you can handle your rifles, try out the SA58 once you reach the correct rankAlso I recommend reading the community guides for AVA on Steam.

It can be fitted with a silencer and is unique among the in-game sidearms in that it can zoom in when the player brings the sights up, despite using iron sights. Smith & Wesson Model 29.44 Magnum Shotguns Cobray Street Sweeper / Armsel Protecta HybridThe 'Striker-12' weapon is primarily a, but with the automatic shell ejection and the large shell deflector of the. It appears in the game as an unlockable weapon, referred to in-game as the 'Striker-12'. The weapon possess a 12 round magazine, the largest of any shotgun, but has an abysmally slow reload rate, as its reload (correctly) involves turning the winding key in front of the shotgun after loading every round.
Note the wire-frame stock. NeoStead 2000The appears in the game as an unlockable weapon. Possess average damage rate, but fast reload speed and RoF for a pump-action shotgun. The game also reflects the NS2000's double magazine tube by allowing the player to toggle between two ammunition types, each with their own ammunition pool. The first type is standard buckshot and the second type are slug rounds.
Using slugs reduces the weapon's RoF roughly by half, but can still do powerful damage at medium range, and is more accurate. 7.62x39mm AK-12 prototype (photoshopped mock-up) AKS-74UThe appears in the game as an unlockable weapon. Despite being a carbine version of an assault rifle, the game classifies it as a submachine gun and issues it to the Point Man class. A custom version of the weapon, known as the 'AKS-74U Corvus III' features two magazines in a dual mag clamp, the weapon's reloading animation having the player flipping the magazines around to load in the full mag in a manner similar to the reload animation for the in. World model of 'Daewoo K2'. Diemaco C7A2The appears in the game as an unlockable weapon, referred to in-game as the 'Diemaco C7A2'.
It features a polymer magazine and a Crane stock in place of the normal 4-position stock (though it still maintains the green hue unique to the C7A2's furniture). It can mount either an EOTech red dot sight or an ELCAN Specter scope. Interestingly, this is one of only two -pattern weapons in the game where the reload animation has the player-character hitting the bolt release instead of cycling the charging handle, the other being the HK416 mentioned below. World model of 'AIG Asymmetric Warrior ASW338LM'. Barrett M82A1MIn AI Annihilation maps, a female NPC 'leader' character will randomly spawn after a period of time, the 'leader' armed with a, referred to as an 'M82A3 Barret' in-game. It can be picked up and used by other players after the 'leader' is killed.
When not in use, an icon will appear on-screen showing players where the weapon is so they can find and use it. It holds 20 rounds per magazine (twice the magazine capacity of the real M82A1M), with an infinite amount of reloads. World model of the 'MSG90A1 MOD 0', an upgraded variant with a different default scope (which in this case has been modified back to the original non-upgraded scope). IMI Galil Sniper RifleThe appears in the game as an unlockable weapon. An interesting note about this weapon is that the reticle is identical to that of the PSO-1 scope used on the Dragunov and VSS, despite this weapon not using that scope. The handguard also appears to have the ribbed design as seen on the as opposed to the relatively smooth handguard on the Galil Sniper. World model of 'Mosin-Nagant M91/30 Sniper'.
Machine Guns M249 SAWIn some AI Annihilation maps, a 'leader' character will randomly spawn, the 'leader' armed with an which can be picked up and used after the 'leader' is killed. The weapon has a custom tiger-stripe paint scheme on the handguard and feed tray cover and holds 50 rounds (despite being modeled with a 200-round drum).
On Escape maps, players can find and use a SAW without the paint scheme which holds 100 round (again in a 200-round drum). In some Infection maps, players can find a SAW with a leopard-print paint scheme on the handguard and feed tray cover. Heckler & Koch MG4KEThe appears in the game as an unlockable weapon for the Rifleman class, and is thus far the only machine gun that can be used on a permanent basis regardless of map or game mode. It feeds from a 70-round ammo drum (despite being modeled with a 200-round M249 ammo box) and can be fitted with the G36V-style export carry handle/scope assembly.
It has an unusually slow rate of fire compared to the real MG4KE; players with good trigger discipline can actually squeeze off single rounds as if firing a semi-auto weapon. A Mk 19 grenade launcher (right) mounted on a MOWAG Piranha in Alliance of Valiant Arms Launchers RPG-7The appears in the game in 'Escort' maps stored in lockers at strategic points throughout the map. The in-game RPG-7 is fitted with a PGO-7 scope (with a red dot added to the reticle to show point of aim) and can disable the Leopard 2A6 tank with two PG-7VM rockets, even to the frontal armor, something which would be highly unlikely in real life. The rockets also fly much slower than those fired by the real RPG-7. When using this weapon, the player's movement speed (particularly when sprinting) is significantly reduced.
